How to print a 2-inch (58 mm) thermal bill

Use a compact 58 mm thermal printer with QuPOS: driver paper size, choosing the 2-inch format and keeping item names readable on narrow paper.

About 10 minutes · Applies to: Mobile Shop, Barcode Billing

A 2-inch (58 mm) printer is small and inexpensive. It suits accessory counters, kiosks and shops with short bills. QuPOS has a separate 2-inch layout so the bill stays readable on the narrow roll.

You will need

  • 58 mm thermal printer
  • 58 mm thermal paper roll

Steps

  1. Install the 58 mm driver

Install the manufacturer's driver and set the paper size to 58 mm. Print a Windows test page.

  2. Choose the 2-inch format

In QuPOS, open Settings → Printing and choose the 2-inch (58 mm) format.

  3. Select the printer

Pick the 58 mm printer by name for silent printing and set auto-print and copies.

  4. Keep item names short

Long item names wrap onto two lines on 58 mm paper. Use short names (for example "Type-C Cable 1m") to keep bills compact.

  5. Print a test bill

Bill one or two items and press F9 to check alignment.

Tips and troubleshooting

  • If you print GST/VAT breakups, HSN summaries or QR codes often, a 3-inch printer is a better fit.
  • Most 58 mm printers have a 48 mm printable width; if text is cut, check the driver's margin settings.
