How to back up and restore your billing data
Take one-click backups in QuPOS, schedule automatic daily backups to a USB drive or a cloud-synced folder, and restore your data on the same or a new PC.
About 10 minutes · Applies to: Barcode Billing, Supermarket, Textile, Mobile Shop
Your data lives on your own PC in %ProgramData%\QubhaBilling, so keeping a copy somewhere else is your job. QuPOS makes it a one-time setup.
You will need
- A USB drive or a cloud-synced folder (OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox)
Steps
Take a manual backup
Open Settings → Backup and click Back up now. A backup file is created in the backup folder.
Choose the backup folder
Point the backup folder at a USB drive or at a folder synced by OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox so a copy leaves the PC.
Turn on automatic daily backup
Enable automatic daily backup. QuPOS writes a fresh backup to that folder every day.
Restore when needed
On the same or a new PC with QuPOS installed, open Settings → Backup, click Restore from another file, and pick the backup (.qbk) file. The app reloads with the restored data.
Check the restore
Open recent bills and the stock report to confirm the data is complete.
Tips and troubleshooting
- Backups still work after the trial ends, so your data is always recoverable.
- If you use SQL Server, also schedule SQL Server backups of the database.
- Test a restore once on a spare PC so you know it works before you need it.
